Roundham Lodge Guest House was the only 5 Star establishment in Paignton. We recently volunteered to be truly Independent from the association. After several successful earlier years we decided the time was right for a parting of the ways thus giving us the opportunity to free thinking and future development of our business for the benefit of our regular and new guests.
Still the same as it ever was, the Lodge is spotlessly clean, happy and friendly hosts, comfortable accommodation and good food.
The Guest House is situated in Roundham, a select and quiet area of Paignton. Only 300Metres walk to the harbour and 5 minutes walk from the esplanade into Paignton town. The lounge is comfortably furnished and with a display of original oil paintings which are a feature throughout the lodge in all rooms. See gallery.
The Lodge, built in 1901 for a doctor and his family with all the majesty of that era is a pleasure to live in with its high ceilings and cornices, arched brick hallways and several arched windows with coloured leaded glass.
Since the 1920s the residence has been a hotel and more recently updated, renovated and tastefully redecorated as a quality yet modestly priced guest house. The Lodge is furnished to a high and comfortable standard without being pretentious.
